Siri Katta

Siri Katta is 18 years old and is going into her first year of college at the University of Florida. She wishes to pursue Computer Sciences and Business. She started her dance journey learning the basics with Smt. Sasi Arun (disciple of Guru Vasanta Vedam) in Jacksonville at the age of six. She then continued her journey to advance her skills, with her current Acharya Smt. Subashree Narayanan (disciple of Guru B. Bhanumati). Siri has participated in multiple dance recitals, both group and individual, throughout her time learning Bharatanatyam.

Siri is a recent IB graduate from Stanton College Preparatory High School, class of 2023. Her other interests lie in listening to music, learning other forms of dance, learning Carnatic Sangeetham (under Smt. Subashree Narayanan), and spending time with family and friends. She also loves watching movies, doing crafts/art, and helping out in society. Siri has been serving the community by volunteering at the temple, volunteering at a vet, and volunteering in many clubs at her school. Some clubs Siri participates in at her school include National Honor Society, Science National Honors Society, English Honors Society, Psychology National Honors Society, History Honors Society, Medical Club, and Key club.
Dance according to Siri is a way for her to connect and learn more about her culture and heritage even though she is far for her culture of origin. This art form is also means of expression of herself and is a way for her to escape from stress.
